FUSION AS A POWER SOURCE
Orion, located in Chelan County, WA, is designed to deliver fusion electricity to the grid. As the world's first fusion power plant, it establishes fusion as a source of baseload, carbon-free power.

MEETING INCREASED DEMAND
Global electricity demand is rising. Meeting mid-century needs will require substantial new generation capacity. The grid requires new sources of safe, abundant power. Orion establishes fusion as a viable solution.

Fusion’s first customer
In 2023, Helion signed the world's first fusion power purchase agreement (PPA) with Microsoft for 50 megawatts of clean electricity. Orion is designed to meet that commitment, with initial operations beginning in 2028.
